Episode 24 : Rare Comics
Ryan
Not this weekend, but the next we will be recording our episode about Rare Comics Clive Barker has written or contributed to.

So the lineup for Rare comics so far is this: Primal, Night of the Living Dead London, Seduth. Any other suggestions I might be forgetting about?

Nightbreed and Hellraiser comics will get their own episodes.

Also, if the episode we recorded with the folks from Hellraiser Podcast gets posted soon, we'll put that up before this one, and the episode numbers might change.

I'm not totally up to date on what's been covered...
Did you cover the 'Tapping the Vein' and 'Book of the Damned' series?

Tapping the Vein we covered in the various Books of Blood episodes, and the Books of the Damned we're saving for when we talk about Hellraiser Comics.

There are some comics that are not his but he did contribute to them in a small way. Deady the undead Teddy had a Hellraiser encounter.
Terror Inc. had the Lament configuration in it.
Fly In My Eye not a comic of his but Featured his early artwork.
There are the other Eclipse titles Like Rawhead Rex, Son of Celluloid, Dread and stuff. Age of Desire came later.
There is the Great and Secret Show and Thief of Always adaptions.
Also the Razorline Comics from Marvel... Hokum and Hex, Hyperkind, Saint Sinner, and Eckto Kid.

Plenty of material to choose from.

Hi Doug,

We're sticking to ones he directly contributed. Clive did an art piece for Sandman as well--a book of portraits of death, and did the cover for Neil Gaiman's "Now We Are Sick". The Eclipse titles and Tapping the Vein, we've covered when we talked about Books of Blood. We'll do the same when we talk about Great and Secret Show and Thief of Always, presumably, and Weaveworld. Clive also did the cover for a comic called "Dark Fantasy" but didn't contribute to any of the content inside.

Razorline comics will get their own episode. So this episode on Saturday is going to focus on really short series or one-offs where Clive helped write or they are based on his work. We almost added Books of the Damned, but those fit more in with the Hellriaser Comics episode.

Actually Clive co-wrote one story from the Deady comic called Deady's Nightmare. BTW I was wrong about the title of the comic It is actually called Deady the Malevolent Teddy.

We talked only a little about Deaddy. I remember that coming up as news on Revelations, and Jose remembered what it was about, but neither of us have it.

I should have the episode posted today.

Edit:

José Leitão and Ryan Danhauser talk about rare Clive Barker comics, Primal, Night of the Living Dead London and Seduth (many other honorable Mentions).
