Bye Bye Rainy Day

Posted on August 20, 2018 by Roger

I sat down and its suddenly 7 hours later. Where did the time go?
I think it rained while my mind was elsewhere too. Hmmmmm
Here’s what I was working on though so it was totally worth it.

I did some small edits and pretty much finished the layout in InDesign (which is formatted for a 6×9 book).
I’m still not sure about pictures but I still have time to think on that.

Working on the cover blurb too:
Here it is so far (just remember things may change):

The action-packed spooky adventures of alien horror host Doctor Xombie and his strange assortment of friends are here for you to thrill to. Read along as they encounter weird monsters and crack jokes & puns along the way.

Macabre tales included are about what happened when homicidal Lord Arken escaped his prison planet, Doctor Xombie was late for a big funeral, and Vegetablemen invaded the small town of Zephyr-kills.

You also get the story of when Granny Ghoul tried to find the perfect rock for Doctor Xombie’s spooky garden, Friday’s quest for the perfect peanuts, and Hannah Banana the gorilla’s antics, when they took the local flea market by storm.

What do the Brigade want with Granny’s new skull and why can’t Mr. Dan keep Doctor Xombie’s hearse clean? These questions and more might be answered in these very pages. Probably.

Will Doctor Xombie and Fiends finally realize the true meaning of life and why we are all here? Not even close, but with their macabre sense of humor they’ll save the Earth from alien invaders and other threats to humanity.

If you love horror hosts, sci-fi, comedy, and macabre humor then you’ll want to grab this unique and exciting tome with both cold clammy hands.

So this is just another small update to let you all know that the book will be out by the end if the year… but probably much sooner. Keep checking out the Facebook page and here at www.XombieInk.com

-Later!!!

Deaf Fright Problem

Posted on October 3, 2014 by Roger

Here’s a joke about Doctor Xombie’s good Fiends Scary Sid and Dawn of the Dead (from the “Friday Night Fright”):

Dawn of the Dead, Scary Sid, and Doctor Xombie

Dawn of the Dead, Scary Sid, and Doctor Xombie

-Deaf Fright Problem-

Scary Sid feared his ghoul-friend Dawn of the Dead wasn’t hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid.

Not quite sure how to approach her, he called Doctor Xombie to discuss the problem.

Doctor Xombie told him there is a simple informal test that Sid could perform to give Doctor Xombie a better idea about her hearing loss.

‘Here’s what you do,’ said Doctor Xombie, ‘stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.’

That evening, Dawn is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the dungeon. Scary Sid says to himself, ‘I’m about 40 feet away, let’s see what happens.’Then in a normal tone he asks, ‘Snookums, what’s for dinner?’

No response.

So the Sid moves up the stairs and closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from Dawn and repeats, ‘Dawn, what’s for dinner?’

Still no response.

Next he moves into the un-living room where he is about 20 feet from her and asks, ‘Sweetums, what’s for dinner?’

Again he gets no response.

So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. ‘Dawn, what’s for dinner?’

Again there is no response.

So he walks right up behind her. ‘Dawn, what’s for dinner?’

‘For goodness sake, Sid, for the FIFTH time, BRAINS!’

Review For ‘Dr. Paul Bearer’s Creature Feature’

"A wonderful book. I spent many of my Saturday afternoons watching "Creature Feature", laughing at the horrible movies, and at Mr. Bennick's special brand of humor. It's great to see that he has been remembered." - Carl Stiles (Amazon.com Review)
